Privacy Policy
Weight Loss Intelligence, Powered by The Hoffman Cycle™
Effective October 30, 2026
This policy is also our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Who we are
Weight Loss Intelligence is operated by WLI Health, Inc., an Illinois corporation ("WLI Health", "we", "us"). You can reach us about privacy at privacy@thehoffmancycle.com.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the Weight Loss Intelligence app for iPhone and Android and the website thehoffmancycle.com. The app is available in the United States to adults 18 and over.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account: your email address, used to sign in.
- Profile: your birth year, to confirm you are 18 or over, and your biological sex and race if you choose to give them. You can change these, or remove sex and race, at any time.
- Program details: whether you take a weekly GLP-1 medication, your injection day, and when you started your current program.
- Your scale: which kind of scale you use, so we can connect the right service.
- Weigh-ins you enter: weights you type in or import from a file.
- Days you mark: days you mark in the app, such as travel or illness, and what you marked them as.
Information from services you connect
Only if you choose to connect them:
- Withings: your weight and body-composition readings, including body fat, lean and muscle mass, bone mass and body water, with the time of each reading.
- Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android): your weight and body-composition readings, including body fat and lean body mass, and body water where your device provides it.
You can disconnect any of these from the Account tab at any time. When you do, we stop reading new data from that service.
Information we calculate
The app calculates results from your readings, such as where you are in your cycle and your predictions. These are stored with your account.
Information collected automatically
Basic technical information needed to run and fix the app, such as error reports and the time of each sign-in. We do not use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising or tracking tools.
How we use your information
- To run the app for you: to show where you are in your cycle, your predictions, your weekly rhythm and your progress.
- To improve the app's accuracy: we analyze information across users to make the app's results more accurate for everyone.
- To communicate with you: to send sign-in codes and important notices about the app or this policy.
We do not use your health information for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell your information.
Research and aggregate findings
We plan to offer two optional choices in the future: taking part in health research, and allowing your information to contribute to de-identified, aggregate findings we share with partners in health care, research and technology. Neither is offered yet. Each will be a separate choice, explained in full before you decide, and you will be able to withdraw at any time. Research will be approved by an independent ethics review board before it begins. Nothing you do in the app today enrolls you in either.
Who we share information with
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers that run the app for us, under contracts that require them to protect your information: Supabase (data storage and sign-in), Modal (the app's calculations) and Resend (sign-in emails).
- Services you connect, to the extent needed to read your readings from them.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the safety of any person.
- In a sale, merger or reorganization of the business, in which case the new owner must honor this policy.
Information from Apple Health and Health Connect
Information we read from Apple Health or Health Connect is used only to provide and improve the app's results. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties except as this policy describes and the platform terms permit. We do not store health information in iCloud.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: from the Account tab in the app, at thehoffmancycle.com/delete-account, or by emailing us.
- Disconnect a service: from the Account tab at any time.
- Change your profile: from the Account tab at any time.
- See, copy or correct your information: email us. We respond within 45 days.
- Withdraw consent: delete your account, or email us.
We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.
Deletion and retention
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we disconnect any service you connected, stop reading health-app data, and remove your account and all of its information from our active systems right away. Copies in backups are removed within 30 days. Records that contain no information about you, such as aggregate statistics produced before you deleted your account, are not affected.
Security
Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Each user can reach only their own records, and access by our team is limited to the people who need it to run the app. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires, including under the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule.
Where your information is stored
Your information is stored on servers in the United States.
Children
The app is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we delete it.
State privacy rights
Residents of Washington, Nevada, Connecticut and other states with consumer health data laws have rights over their health information. We honor these rights for all users, wherever they live:
- Consent: we collect and share consumer health data only as this policy describes, and only with your consent where the law requires it.
- Access: you can confirm whether we hold your consumer health data, see it, and get a list of anyone we have shared it with.
- Deletion: you can have it deleted, including copies held by our service providers.
- Withdrawal: you can withdraw your consent at any time.
- No sale: we do not sell consumer health data.
- Appeal: if we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. If we deny the appeal, you can contact your state attorney general.
To make a request, email privacy@thehoffmancycle.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with its effective date. If a change affects how we use information we already hold, we will ask for your consent in the app before it applies.
